Datasheet View for SharePoint 2013/2016

Overview

The good old Datasheet view, now available in SharePoint 2013/2016!

In SharePoint 2013/2016 the Datasheet view was replaced with the new Quick Edit option which works now in all browsers (since it is no longer using ActiveX). However, the new Quick Edit mode does not support all the "Excel-like" features that many of the end users got used to in SharePoint 2010.

That's why we've created the "Datasheet view for SharePoint 2013/2016":

After you install and deploy this add-on, you'll be able to bulk-edit your lists using the good old Datasheet view, in addition to the new Quick Edit mode.

Edit remote lists using the Datasheet view web part

In addition to the regular Datasheet view, you can also use the Datasheet view web part.
Add the web part to any page and then configure it to enable editing of any remote list/library.

The Business Need

Although the Quick Edit view introduced a major improvement by supporting all browsers instead of just IE, it lacks the bulk-editing capabilities for the SP 2010 Datasheet view, which provides true "excel-like" UX.
